    Diethyltoluamide (CAS 134-62-3) is primarily deployed as the active insect repellent ingredient in skin-applied products (sprays, lotions, and wipes) to deter mosquitoes and other biting insects. It is also formulated for textiles and outdoor gear as repellents applied to fabrics or coatings to extend protection for clothing and equipment.
