Diethylene glycol dimethyl ether (diglyme, CAS 111-96-6) is a polar aprotic, high-boiling solvent widely used across industry for applications such as: solvent for organic synthesis and organometallic systems (for example Grignard and lithium reagents); electrolyte solvent in lithium batteries and energy-storage formulations; cleaning and degreasing solvent in electronics manufacturing and precision cleaning; solvent for coatings, inks and adhesives formulations; processing solvent for polymers and plastics in resin and coating applications; and it may be used as an intermediate or precursor in the synthesis of other glyme solvents.
