  • Applications

Diethyldichlorosilane (CAS 1719-53-5) is a reactive chlorosilane primarily used as a precursor in the manufacture of silicone polymers and siloxane resins via hydrolysis and condensation of Si–Cl bonds to form siloxane networks. It also serves as a building block for silicone coatings, sealants, and elastomers, introducing diethylsilyl linkages into polymer frameworks. In coatings, inks, and adhesives, it acts as a silane coupling agent and surface modifier to improve adhesion to polymer and inorganic substrates. Additionally, it is used as an intermediate to prepare diethylsilane-containing organosilicon compounds for specialty materials in electronics, optics, and high-performance polymer formulations.
