It also functions as a surfactant and emulsifier/stabilizer in household cleaners, providing wetting, foaming, and cleansing performance. In industrial manufacturing it serves as an emulsifier and stabilizer in formulations such as paints, coatings, and polymer processing aids. In coatings and inks it acts as a wetting and dispersing agent to improve substrate coverage and pigment dispersion.
