Diallyl phthalate (CAS 131-17-9) is the diester of phthalic acid with two allyl groups, enabling network formation during radical polymerization. In industry, it is commonly used as a crosslinking monomer in polymer systems and coatings: as a crosslinking agent for epoxy resins and unsaturated polyester resins, as well as in UV-curable coatings and inks; it serves as a reactive intermediate in adhesive formulations and specialty polymers, and is used in electrical insulation resins for electronics (potting compounds).
