Decyltetradecylamine oxide (CAS 146793-33-1) is used primarily as a surfactant in household and industrial cleaning formulations, providing wetting, foaming and emulsification to enhance cleaning performance; in cosmetics and personal care it serves as a mild surfactant with potential conditioning and foaming benefits in shampoos and bath products; in coatings and inks it functions as a nonionic emulsifier and dispersion aid, helping pigment dispersion and film formation; in polymers and plastics processing it acts as an emulsifier and stabilizer for latex formulations and as a wetting agent in polymerization processes; and as an intermediate in the synthesis of specialty surfactants, enabling the production of other amine oxide-based surfactants.
