Applications
Cupric Chloride (CAS 7447-39-4) is widely used as a copper etchant in electronics and printed circuit board fabrication, where the CuCl2-HCl solution dissolves copper to create traces. It also serves as a copper ion source in electroplating and metal finishing baths, supporting copper deposition. In textiles, this salt is used as a mordant to fix certain dyes to fibers.
