Applications
Cobaltous neodecanoate (CAS 27253-31-2) is commonly used as a metal-based drying agent for drying oils and alkyd resins in solvent-based paints, varnishes, and wood finishes, promoting faster film formation and improved gloss. It is also employed in industrial coatings and printing inks to accelerate cure and enhance early hardness and durability. In polymer systems, it can act as a curing catalyst or processing aid in certain alkyd and unsaturated polyester resin formulations. Where permitted by regulations, it may function as a specialty stabilizer or processing additive in some plastics formulations.
