Applications
Clomazone is an active ingredient used in agricultural crop protection as a selective pre-emergence herbicide to control annual grasses and broadleaf weeds in crops such as maize, soybeans, rice, sugarcane, and vegetables. It is formulated as emulsifiable concentrates or granules that are applied by spraying or soil incorporation as part of integrated weed management programs. Its mode of action inhibits carotenoid biosynthesis in weeds, causing bleaching and suppressed weed growth while allowing crop tolerance at labeled rates. Use is subject to local regulations and formulation limits.
