cis-Piperityl acetate (CAS 78774-33-1) is a minty–herbal acetate with crisp green, slightly fruity and gently spicy facets, used as a flavor ingredient and modulator in beverages, confectionery, chewing gum, dairy and baked goods, and in mint flavors for toothpaste and mouthwash to deliver freshness and boost top-note diffusion; in perfumery and home/personal care it reinforces mint/green accords, polishes and supports natural peppermint/spearmint, and imparts a clean, brisk effect in shampoos, shower gels, soaps, detergents, air care and automotive products; in R&D it serves as an aroma reference for mint raw-material QC, a model compound for structure–odor studies, a precursor/intermediate to other piperityl esters, and a target for microencapsulation and controlled-release technologies to stabilize flavor during processing or storage, typically dosed at trace-to-low levels depending on the matrix and applicable safety guidelines.
