  • Applications

Ciclopirox olamine (CAS 41621-49-2) is primarily used as an antifungal active in topical pharmaceutical formulations. It is commonly formulated in creams, gels, and solutions for the treatment of superficial fungal skin infections; it is also used in nail lacquer to treat onychomycosis, and features in medicated shampoos for scalp fungal conditions such as dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis. In addition, it is included in various dermatological topical dosage forms such as lotions and sprays as an antifungal agent, subject to local regulations and formulation limits.
