    Ceteth-3 (CAS 4484-59-7) is a nonionic surfactant formed by ethoxylating cetyl alcohol to about three ethylene oxide units; it is commonly used as an emulsifier and surfactant in cosmetics and personal care products, as a mild wetting agent and cleanser in household and industrial formulations, as a processing aid and dispersant in polymer and plastics formulations, and as a wetting and dispersing additive in coatings and inks to improve substrate coverage; it can also function as a fragrance solubilizer in perfumery-related formulations, subject to local regulations and formulation limits.
