It also serves as a solvent or carrier for fragrance oils in perfumery and fragrance-containing products; in household and cleaning products, it acts as a solvent and co-emulsifier for detergents and cleaners. In coatings and inks, it can act as a processing aid and co-solvent to aid dispersion and film formation. Additionally, it may be used as a plasticizer or processing aid in certain polymer formulations.
