Applications
Butylene glycol laurate (CAS 180680-00-6) is used as an emollient and solvent in cosmetics and personal care, improving slip, spreadability, and texture in creams, lotions, and cleansers and can function as a surfactant or co-emulsifier in formulations. It also serves as a solvent or carrier for fragrance oils in perfumery and fragrance-containing products; in household and cleaning products, it acts as a solvent and co-emulsifier for detergents and cleaners. In coatings and inks, it can act as a processing aid and co-solvent to aid dispersion and film formation. Additionally, it may be used as a plasticizer or processing aid in certain polymer formulations.
