Applications
Butyl 2-methylbutyrate (CAS 15706-73-7) is a fruity ester widely employed by the flavor and fragrance industries to impart apple, pear, strawberry and banana notes to candies, beverages and baked goods; it is also formulated into perfumes, air fresheners, e-liquids, and personal-care products for its fresh, pleasant aroma, and serves as a solvent or intermediate in the synthesis of other aroma chemicals thanks to its moderate volatility, good solvency and agreeable scent.
