Applications
Bis(2-butoxyethyl) phthalate (CAS 117-83-9) is commonly used as a plasticizer for PVC and other polymers to impart flexibility and processability. It is also employed as a plasticizer in coatings and printing inks to improve film flexibility and durability, and in adhesive formulations to enhance elasticity and tack retention. It is applied in flexible vinyl products and films, cable insulation for electronics, and other consumer and industrial coatings where a pliable matrix is required. In addition, it may be used as a processing aid in polymer formulations and as a component in industrial sealants, with use governed by local regulations and formulation limits.
