  • Applications

Anisyl acetate (CAS 104-21-2) is an aromatic ester with a soft, sweet floral-fruity odour that finds broad use as a fragrance modifier in fine perfumes, body sprays, shampoos, shower gels, deodorants and other personal-care items; in the flavour industry it imparts a delicate sweet note to candies, beverages, baked goods, yogurts and chewing gum while masking undesirable base notes; in scented candles, household cleaners, dryer sheets and liquid detergents it confers a clean, upscale ambience and improves scent longevity; additionally, anisyl acetate serves as an intermediate in pharmaceutical synthesis, a flavour corrector in cough syrups, and a component of air-freshener blends and eco-friendly insect repellents owing to its low toxicity and good biodegradability.
