  • Applications

Amitraz is used primarily as an acaricide and insecticide in veterinary and agricultural settings. In veterinary medicine, it is formulated as topical dips or solutions to treat demodectic mange in dogs and to control ectoparasites. In livestock production, it is applied as dips, sprays, or pour-on formulations to reduce parasitic infestations on cattle, sheep and other animals. In apiculture, amitraz-based products are used to manage Varroa destructor mites in honeybee colonies. It also appears in professional pest-control formulations for on-animal and on-farm applications, subject to local regulations and formulation limits.
