  • Applications

Acryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane is a silane coupling agent with an acrylate functionality and three methoxy groups (CAS 4369-14-6) used to promote adhesion between organic polymers and inorganic substrates and to participate in interfacial crosslinking. In coatings and paints, it acts as an adhesion promoter and compatibilizing additive, improving bonding to glass, metal, and silica-containing substrates and contributing to siloxane-network formation that enhances the film's water resistance. In adhesives and sealants, it improves substrate adhesion and compatibility with polymer networks. In polymers and composites, it serves as a functional monomer or coupling agent to enhance interfacial bonding between organic polymer matrices and inorganic fillers such as silica. In UV-curable coatings and inks, the acrylate group enables copolymerization, increasing film strength and durability. It is also used for surface modification of inorganic fillers (e.g., silica, glass) to form siloxane linkages and improve dispersion and adhesion in composite formulations.
