  • Applications

Acid Violet 9 (CAS 6252-76-2) is an anionic acid dye used primarily for dyeing protein fibers such as wool and silk, and is compatible with certain polyamide (nylon) fibers in acid-dye processes. It is also employed as a colorant for leather finishing and dyeing. In coatings and inks, it can serve as a soluble dye colorant to impart a vivid purple hue to coatings and printing formulations. In plastics and polymers, Acid Violet 9 may be used to color a range of compatible resin systems. Additionally, it can function as an intermediate in the synthesis of azo dyes and related colorants for the dye industry. Use is subject to local regulations and formulation limits.
