Applications
4-Carvomenthenol (CAS 562-74-3) is a terpenoid with a characteristic mint–herbal odor widely employed in flavor and fragrance industries to impart cooling notes to mouthwashes, candies, beverages, and personal-care products; in cosmetics it delivers freshness, deodorizing capability and odor masking; in household cleaners it enhances the perception of cleanliness and air revitalization; the compound is also investigated for antimicrobial, antioxidant and natural insect-repellent properties, for aromatherapy formulations aimed at stress relief, and as an intermediate in the synthesis of more complex aroma chemicals, all within safety limits set by regulatory authorities.
