Applications
Chemical name (3beta,9beta)-7-Drimene-3,11,12-triol (CAS 101470-79-5) is a drimane-type polyol containing three hydroxyl groups (3,11,12-triol). In perfumery and cosmetics, it may be used as an odorant or fragrance ingredient and as a building block for synthesis of other drimane terpenoid fragrance compounds. In industrial manufacturing, it is evaluated as an intermediate for terpene-based derivatives. Given its triol functionality, it can also be considered as a polyol for polymer or coating formulations, subject to formulation limits and local regulations.
