Applications
3,6,9,12-Tetraoxatetracosan-1-ol (CAS 5274-68-0) is an alkyl poly(ethylene glycol) ether surfactant with a long hydrophobic C24 tail and a short EO4 polyoxyethylene head. It is used as a nonionic surfactant and emulsifier in detergents and cosmetic/personal-care formulations; as a wetting agent and dispersant in paints, coatings, inks, and polymer dispersions; as a processing aid and lubricant/flow modifier in industrial manufacturing and polymer formulations; as an emulsifier and carrier in agricultural formulations to improve spray coverage; and as a synthetic intermediate for the production of other surfactants or related lubricant/additive formulations.
