  • Applications

3,3,4,4,5,5,6,6,7,7,8,8,8-Tridecafluorooctyltriethoxysilan (CAS 51851-37-7) is commonly used as a silane surface modifier to impart very low surface energy to coatings and printed inks, enabling durable water- and oil-repellent finishes. It also acts as a silane coupling agent in fluorinated polymers and plastics, improving compatibility and adhesion at interfaces. In electronics and optics, it is employed to form ultrathin hydrophobic/oleophobic surface layers on glass, metal, and polymer components. In formulations for adhesives and sealants, it can tailor wetting, cure behavior, and release properties. It may also be evaluated for surface-treated textiles and other substrates where durable fluorinated surface characteristics are desired.
