Applications
3-(2-Methoxyethoxy)propyl-methyl-bis(trimethylsilyloxy)silane (CAS 27306-78-1) is a silane precursor bearing two trimethylsilyloxy groups and a 3-(2-methoxyethoxy)propyl moiety. It is commonly used as a silane coupling agent and as a precursor for coatings, adhesives and sol-gel derived organosilica networks to improve adhesion between oxide surfaces (such as silica, glass and metals) and polymers. It also serves as a surface-modifying agent to introduce polyether functionality in polymer formulations and as a reactive intermediate to build organosilica networks in sol-gel processes. Additionally, it may be used in sealants, coatings and plastic-ceramic composites to enhance interfacial bonding and network stability.
