  • Applications

2,2'-Methylenebis(4-ethyl-6-tert-butylphenol) (CAS 88-24-4) is used as a hindered phenol antioxidant and thermal-oxidative stabilizer in polymers and plastics, notably polyolefins and other resins, to retard degradation from heat and oxygen. It also serves as an oxidation stabilizer for lubricating oils and fuels, helping prevent sludge and varnish formation. The compound is added to coatings and inks to enhance oxidative resistance and shelf stability. It can function as a stabilizer in adhesives to improve the aging performance of polymeric bonds. In rubbers and elastomers, it is employed to extend service life under processing and elevated temperatures.
