    2-Methoxyethanol, also known as ethylene glycol monomethyl ether (EGME), is primarily used as an industrial solvent for coatings, paints, and varnishes; it is also used as a solvent in inks and related formulations. It is employed in cleaning and precision surface cleaning for electronics and metal substrates.
