    2-Decanol, acetate (CAS 1534-32-3) is a C10 acetate ester with a fruity, green-waxy odor; used as a fragrance ingredient in perfumes, soaps, detergents and personal-care products to impart pear/banana/melon and fresh-green notes, and as a flavor at very low dosages in confectionery, beverages and chewing gum; industrially it serves as a solvent/coupling agent for coatings, inks, adhesives and cleaners due to moderate volatility and good resin/oil solvency; a carrier in agrochemical formulations; a lubricant additive and mild plasticizer; an intermediate for synthesizing esters, surfactants and aroma chemicals; and a more environmentally benign co-solvent for specialty formulations and extraction tasks.
