Applications
1,10-Decanedithiol (CAS 1191-67-9) is used as a difunctional thiol crosslinker and chain extender in polymer systems and coatings, including epoxy, polyurethane, and UV-curable formulations, via thiol-ene and thiol-epoxy chemistries; it can improve network density, chemical resistance, and adhesion of coatings and adhesives. Its two thiol ends also enable the formation of self-assembled monolayers on metal surfaces, supporting electronics and sensor applications. Additionally, it serves as an intermediate in the synthesis of specialty polymers and materials.
