Applications
11-Tetradecenyl acetate, (11E)- (CAS 26532-95-6) is a synthetic sex pheromone component widely used in sustainable crop protection to monitor and manage insect pests (notably moths in Lepidoptera such as Tortricidae and Noctuidae), including: lure for male trapping to track population density and early warning; mating disruption via area-wide release to reduce male–female encounters and oviposition; formulation as species-specific blends to enhance trap selectivity; replacement or reduction of conventional insecticides, lowering residues, resistance, and non-target impacts; support of IPM and organic production due to very low human and environmental toxicity; and use in chemical ecology research to optimize trapping–release strategies, characterize seasonal population dynamics, and calibrate dispensers for emission rate, longevity, and formulation stability.
