    T-Muurolol (CAS 19912-62-0) được ứng dụng chủ yếu như chất chuẩn phân tích trong GC/GC-MS để định tính, định lượng và tạo “vân tay” tinh dầu phục vụ kiểm soát chất lượng, giám định nguồn gốc thực vật và phát hiện pha trộn; trong nghiên cứu hương liệu, nó được khảo sát như một thành phần mùi mang sắc thái gỗ, đất và balsamic để tái tạo hồ sơ mùi của tinh dầu và xây dựng nền mùi trong công thức nước hoa; trong sinh học và hóa sinh, hợp chất này thường đóng vai trò phân tử mô hình để nghiên cứu sinh tổng hợp sesquiterpen, độ chọn lọc của terpene synthase/cytochrome P450 và phát triển phương pháp sắc ký (kể cả tách đồng phân quang học); ngoài ra, T-Muurolol còn được xem xét ở mức nghiên cứu in vitro về tiềm năng kháng vi sinh, chống oxy hóa hoặc chống viêm, trong các hệ dẫn truyền hương (như nhũ tương nano hoặc bao gói cyclodextrin) nhằm cải thiện ổn định và phát tán, và đôi khi làm chỉ thị phát thải sinh học trong nghiên cứu khí quyển và metabolomics thực vật.
