    Selina-4(15),7(11)-diene (CAS 515-17-3) là một sesquiterpen hydrocarbon hiện diện trong nhiều tinh dầu; được ứng dụng chủ yếu trong lĩnh vực hương liệu–hương vị nhờ sắc thái gỗ, ấm và thoảng đất để hiệu chỉnh nốt giữa, chuẩn hóa nền mùi và gia tăng chiều sâu công thức; làm dấu ấn hóa thực vật và chất chuẩn tham chiếu trong GC–MS/GC–FID (chỉ số lưu giữ, phổ khối) phục vụ kiểm nghiệm chất lượng, xác thực nguyên liệu và phát hiện pha trộn; làm cơ chất/khung xương cho biến đổi sinh học hoặc oxy hóa chọn lọc nhằm tạo dẫn xuất oxy hóa phục vụ mùi hương và nghiên cứu hoạt tính sinh học; được khảo sát trong sinh thái hóa học như hợp chất bay hơi của thực vật ảnh hưởng đến hành vi côn trùng; và dùng trong nghiên cứu sinh tổng hợp terpene (đánh giá enzyme cyclase/P450), với lưu ý bảo quản tránh oxy và ánh sáng để hạn chế tự oxy hóa gây thay đổi mùi và tín hiệu phân tích.
