    Rose oxide, trans-(-)- (CAS 876-18-6) là một chất tạo hương cực mạnh mang sắc thái hoa hồng tươi, xanh và vải thiều, được dùng rộng rãi trong nước hoa mịn và hương chức năng cho xà phòng, dầu gội, sữa tắm, chất giặt rửa, xịt phòng, nến và que khuếch tán để nâng sáng top note, tạo độ sống động cho các accord hoa hồng/geranium, citrus, aldehyd và fruity; trong thực phẩm, nó góp phần tạo nốt vải thiều–hoa hồng ở mức vết đến rất thấp (thường liều vi lượng) cho đồ uống, kẹo và sản phẩm trái cây; trong nghiên cứu và kiểm nghiệm, đồng phân trans-(-)- được dùng làm chất chuẩn phân tích cho GC–MS và chiral GC, trong các nghiên cứu quan hệ cấu trúc–mùi và tái tạo hương của rượu vang thơm (như phong cách Gewürztraminer) và trái vải; trong kỹ thuật công thức, nó giúp “đội” đỉnh mùi, bắc cầu giữa các terpenoid (phối hợp tốt với citronellol, geraniol, linalool, ionone, damascone), có thể đưa vào hệ vi bao/giải phóng có kiểm soát và dùng trong đào tạo cảm quan; khi ứng dụng cần tuân thủ tiêu chuẩn IFRA và quy định thực phẩm hiện hành, định liều thận trọng do độ mạnh cảm quan cao, và bảo quản kín, mát, tránh ánh sáng/oxy để duy trì ổn định hương.
