    Oleic acid, mã số CAS 112-80-1, là một acid béo đơn không no có nguồn gốc thiên nhiên dồi dào trong dầu ô-liu, dầu hạt hướng dương và mỡ động vật; nhờ tính tương hợp sinh học, khả năng tạo muối xà phòng và hệ nhũ bền, hợp chất này được ứng dụng rộng khắp trong sản xuất xà phòng bánh, chất hoạt động bề mặt, chất làm đặc và ổn định bọt cho chất tẩy rửa gia dụng; trong mỹ phẩm và chăm sóc cá nhân, nó đóng vai trò chất dưỡng ẩm, tá dược truyền dẫn hoạt chất, chất giữ mùi hương cho son, kem, sữa tắm; trong dược phẩm, oleic acid làm chất dẫn thuốc qua da, tá dược làm mềm viên nén, chất giải phóng vi nang; trong ngành thực phẩm, nó là phụ gia nhũ hóa, chất chống vón, nguyên liệu tạo ester hương liệu; ngoài ra acid này còn dùng làm chất bôi trơn sinh học, chất hóa dẻo cao su, dung môi thuốc bảo vệ thực vật, nguyên liệu tổng hợp biodiesel và phụ gia chống ăn mòn kim loại, thể hiện vai trò quan trọng trong ngành hóa chất xanh và công nghiệp năng lượng tái tạo.
