    Naphthalene, decahydro-1,6-dimethyl-4-(1-methylethyl)-, (1S,4S,4aS,6S,8aS)-, didehydro deriv. (CAS 29350-73-0) là một sesquiterpen hydrocarbon khung decalin (kiểu cadinane/selinane) thường gặp trong tinh dầu, được ứng dụng chủ yếu trong công nghiệp hương liệu để tạo tông gỗ ấm, nhựa và hơi cay, góp phần tăng chiều sâu và lớp nền bền mùi cho nước hoa, chất khử mùi, nến thơm và sản phẩm chăm sóc nhà cửa; nó cũng là nguyên liệu tiền chất để oxy hóa thành các dẫn xuất có mùi mạnh hơn (alcol, xeton) và xuất hiện như thành phần phụ trong hương liệu thực phẩm thông qua tinh dầu tự nhiên; trong nghiên cứu, chất này được dùng làm chuẩn GC/MS để kiểm soát chất lượng và dấu vân tay tinh dầu, đồng thời được khảo sát về khả năng kháng khuẩn, kháng nấm và xua côn trùng có nguồn gốc thực vật, với việc ứng dụng thực tế phụ thuộc công thức, liều lượng và tuân thủ quy định (ví dụ hướng dẫn IFRA), cùng yêu cầu bảo quản tránh oxy hóa để hạn chế nguy cơ nhạy cảm da do sản phẩm oxy hóa.
