    Isoamyl butyrate (CAS 106-27-4) là este có hương trái cây đặc trưng, được ứng dụng rộng rãi trong công nghiệp hương liệu – thực phẩm để tạo vị chuối, lê, đào và các hỗn hợp nhiệt đới trong kẹo, chewing gum, nước giải khát, rượu vang, sữa chua, đồng thời làm thành phần thơm mát trong son môi, kem dưỡng, xà phòng, chất tẩy rửa gia dụng, nhờ khả năng khuếch tán mạnh và ổn định hương ở nồng độ thấp; ngoài ra chất này còn được dùng như dung môi có điểm sôi trung bình cho mực in, chất phủ và phụ gia dẻo, làm tác nhân thử phân tích hương, chất chuẩn cho GC, và đôi khi đóng vai trò trung gian tổng hợp cho các este chuỗi dài trong hóa mỹ phẩm và thuốc thú y, đáp ứng các tiêu chuẩn an toàn của FEMA và EU về phụ gia hương liệu.
