    γ-Nonanoic lactone (CAS 104-61-0) là một hợp chất hương liệu có mùi dừa, kem sữa và trái cây chín, được ứng dụng rộng rãi trong điều chế hương thực phẩm (kẹo, bánh nướng, kẹo cao su, đồ uống có cồn lẫn không cồn, sản phẩm sữa), pha chế nước hoa cao cấp, chất tạo hương cho mỹ phẩm, xà phòng và chất tẩy rửa, gia hương thuốc lá, cải thiện hương vị thức ăn chăn nuôi thủy sản, đồng thời làm chất chuẩn phân tích GC-MS và LC-MS, tiền chất tổng hợp ester, thành phần trong dung dịch hiệu chuẩn cảm biến mùi, nghiên cứu dược phẩm và công nghệ vi bao, với ưu điểm ngưỡng mùi rất thấp, ổn định nhiệt, tương thích với nhiều ma trận và được chấp thuận trong danh mục phụ gia hương liệu của FCC, EU và FEMA.
