    (-)-Epiglobulol (CAS 88728-58-9) là một sesquiterpen alcohol tự nhiên được ứng dụng chủ yếu như chất chuẩn tham chiếu trong phân tích GC–MS/HPLC và phát triển phương pháp sắc ký (kể cả đối quang) cho tinh dầu, làm dấu ấn hóa thực vật (chemotaxonomy) để đặc trưng nguồn gốc loài/kiểu hóa học của Eucalyptus và các thực vật giàu terpen, làm khung phân tử cho tổng hợp/bán tổng hợp dẫn xuất và nghiên cứu quan hệ cấu trúc–hoạt tính của các sesquiterpen họ globulol, đồng thời được khảo sát tiền lâm sàng về khả năng kháng vi sinh vật, chống oxy hóa, chống viêm, xua đuổi côn trùng và đóng góp sắc thái hương gỗ‑thảo mộc trong công thức hương liệu; trong dược liệu và kiểm nghiệm chất lượng, hợp chất này hỗ trợ định tính/định lượng, thẩm định phương pháp, hiệu chuẩn sắc ký, và nghiên cứu sinh tổng hợp cũng như chuyển hóa sinh học của sesquiterpen.
