    Bicyclo(4.1.0)heptane, 3-ethenyl-3,7,7-trimethyl-2-(1-methylethenyl)-, (1R-(1α,2α,3β,6α)) (CAS 32531-56-9) là một sesquiterpen bicyclic có hai liên kết đôi ngoại vòng, vì vậy thường được nghiên cứu và khai thác làm: nguyên liệu trung gian trong tổng hợp hữu cơ và hóa học terpene để tạo epoxid, alcohol/ketone allylic, sản phẩm hydrobor–oxy hóa, mảnh ozonolyse và adduct metathesis, đồng thời làm khối xây dựng bất đối xứng nhờ cấu hình tuyệt đối xác định; monomer/cầu nối phản ứng cho nhựa đóng rắn UV/nhiệt và mạng thiol–ene/hydrosilylation, đóng vai trò chất pha loãng phản ứng cho mực in, sơn phủ và keo nhằm tăng độ cứng, tính kỵ nước và giảm co ngót khi đóng rắn; tiền chất mùi và đối tượng R&D trong hương liệu–thực phẩm để phát triển nốt hương kiểu terpene, cũng như chuẩn tham chiếu/marker chỉ số lưu giữ trong GC/GC–MS phục vụ kiểm soát chất lượng tinh dầu giàu sesquiterpen; giàn khung cho nghiên cứu nông hóa và sinh thái hóa học đối với bán hóa chất dẫn dụ/xua đuổi côn trùng và thử nghiệm phát hành có kiểm soát nhờ độ bay hơi vừa phải; và phân tử mô hình trong môi trường và giáo dục để khảo sát cơ chế oxy hóa gốc tự do/ozon cũng như tính căng cơ vòng của hệ bicyclic.
