    alpha-Campholenal (CAS 4501-58-0) là một aldehyde terpen có mùi gỗ–thông–thảo mộc, được dùng rộng rãi trong nước hoa mỹ phẩm và hương chức năng để tăng khuếch tán và độ tươi cho các tông cam chanh, lavender, fougère và “ngoài trời”; nhờ bền trong môi trường kiềm nên đặc biệt hữu ích cho xà phòng, chất tẩy rửa, nước lau sàn, xịt phòng và chăm sóc vải, đồng thời đóng vai trò chất điều chỉnh/ghép mùi với citral, linalool, eucalyptol và các aldehyde C10–C14; ngoài ra còn là nguyên liệu trung gian tổng hợp cho hóa chất hương liệu terpen và các dẫn xuất rượu/oxime/imine, được dùng trong nghiên cứu khử/chọn lọc xúc tác và hiệu chuẩn cảm quan nốt camphoraceous; đôi khi hiện diện ở liều vết trong hương thực phẩm để tạo điểm nhấn thông–mát cho bạc hà hoặc vị thảo mộc, với kiểm soát nồng độ và tuân thủ an toàn hương liệu.
