    4-Isopropyl-2-cyclohexenone (CAS 500-02-7) là một enon liên hợp đa dụng, thường được dùng làm chất trung gian trong tổng hợp hóa hữu cơ tinh vi để xây dựng khung cyclohexanon giàu chức; nó hoạt động như chất nhận Michael và dienophile điển hình, thích hợp cho cộng Michael, Diels–Alder, epoxid hóa, khử/hydro hóa (kể cả bất đối xứng) và biến đổi allylic, nhờ đó tạo ra rượu allylic, lacton và hệ khung bicyclic; trong công nghiệp và nghiên cứu, hợp chất này được khai thác như nguyên liệu đầu cho hương liệu và mùi (biến đổi thành keton/rượu terpenoid liên quan), trung gian dược–nông dược, chất nền mô hình để đánh giá xúc tác kim loại/organocatalyst và các phương pháp điều khiển lập thể (nhóm isopropyl tạo định hướng phản ứng), cũng như chuẩn tham chiếu phân tích cho enon; ưu điểm là sẵn có, ổn định tương đối và cho phép tinh chỉnh chọn lọc không gian khi xây thư viện hợp chất.
