    3,7,11-Trimethyl-2,6,10-dodecatrienyl acetate (thường gọi là farnesyl acetate, CAS 4128-17-0) là một este terpene mạch dài có độ bay hơi trung bình, được ứng dụng rộng rãi trong nông nghiệp, hương liệu và nghiên cứu: trong bảo vệ thực vật, nó đóng vai trò chất bán hóa học (semiochemical) trong các hỗn hợp pheromone để giám sát quần thể côn trùng, bẫy mồi và gây nhiễu giao phối theo hướng canh tác tích hợp, thường được nạp vào bộ phát thải kiểm soát (septa cao su, dây polyme, vi nang) nhằm kéo dài hiệu lực và giảm liều phun; trong công nghiệp hương liệu, nó được dùng như thành phần hương có sắc thái xanh gỗ–hoa–trái, kiêm chất mang và chất ghì hương cho nước hoa, xà phòng và sản phẩm chăm sóc cá nhân nhờ độ ổn định và độ tan trong dầu; trong mỹ phẩm, nó hỗ trợ che mùi và góp phần vào cảm giác mềm mượt công thức; trong phòng thí nghiệm, nó là chất chuẩn/chuẩn đối chiếu GC–MS cho họ isoprenoid, đồng thời là nguyên liệu trung gian để tổng hợp farnesol và các dẫn xuất farnesyl (ví dụ đầu nối prenyl trong nghiên cứu gắn prenyl protein); ngoài ra còn sử dụng như dung môi mang lipophilic cho vi cầu/vi nang hoạt chất. Lưu ý kiểm soát oxy hóa (bảo quản kín, tránh sáng/không khí, có thể bổ sung chất chống oxy hóa) để hạn chế thủy phân/oxy hóa làm suy giảm hoạt tính hương và hiệu quả dẫn dụ.
