    cis-3-Hexenyl acetate (CAS 3681-71-8), còn được gọi là “este lá xanh”, là một hợp chất hương tự nhiên có mặt trong lá non của nhiều loài thực vật; trong công nghiệp hương liệu, nó được ứng dụng rộng rãi để mang lại nốt hương “green note” tươi mát cho nước hoa, mỹ phẩm chăm sóc cá nhân, xà phòng, chất tẩy rửa, nến thơm và chất khử mùi không khí, đồng thời đóng vai trò chất tạo vị trong thực phẩm và đồ uống (kẹo cao su, trà đóng chai, bia không cồn, bánh kẹo, nước sốt, gia vị lỏng); trong nông nghiệp, hợp chất này được nghiên cứu như chất bán hoá học thu hút côn trùng thụ phấn và điều khiển sinh học sâu hại nhằm giảm phụ thuộc vào thuốc bảo vệ thực vật; ngoài ra, cis-3-Hexenyl acetate còn được tích hợp vào bao bì thông minh để chỉ thị độ tươi của rau quả, làm trung gian tổng hợp các este thiên nhiên khác và được dùng trong liệu pháp mùi hương để tạo cảm giác sảng khoái, thư giãn và tăng sự minh mẫn.
