Applications
Diisopropyl peroxydicarbonate (CAS 105-64-6) is a free-radical initiator based on a peroxydicarbonate used in polymer and resin production. In the plastics industry, it is commonly employed to initiate polymerization of vinyl monomers such as acrylates, styrene, and methacrylates to form polymers and resins. It is also used in coating, paint and finish formulations to initiate curing through radical polymerization at elevated temperatures. In adhesives and sealants, DIPODC acts as an initiating agent for the polymerization cycle. Additionally, it is used for unsaturated polyester resins in composites and in emulsion polymerization systems to produce latex and specialty polymers. Through its initiator role, DIPODC participates in crosslinking and network formation in plastics and coatings used in industrial applications.
