  • Applications

Dihexyldecyl IPDI is an aliphatic diisocyanate derivative used as a reactive polyurethane hardener/crosslinker. In formulation it is employed to make PU prepolymers and coatings, adhesives, and sealants, delivering improved flexibility, chemical resistance and weathering performance due to its bulky aliphatic substituents. Typical applications include polyurethane coatings for wood, metal, and automotive components; polyurethane adhesives and sealants for construction and industrial assembly; PU elastomer formulations for seals and gaskets; and PU plastics or molded parts where higher crosslink density and durability are desired. It may also serve as an intermediate in the synthesis of advanced PU systems for electronics encapsulation or potting, subject to formulation constraints and local regulations.
