    Thujopsene (CAS 470-70-2) là một sesquiterpen hydrocarbon có mùi gỗ tuyết tùng khô, được ứng dụng chủ yếu làm nguyên liệu hương trong nước hoa và sản phẩm chăm sóc cá nhân (xà phòng, dầu gội, chất khử mùi, aftershave) cũng như trong nến, chất làm thơm không khí và chất tẩy rửa để tạo và điều chỉnh nốt gỗ ấm, resinous, hơi cay; nó là thành phần tự nhiên nổi bật của tinh dầu cedarwood nên được dùng làm chỉ thị/marker trong kiểm nghiệm GC/MS, định danh nguồn gốc và chuẩn hóa chất lượng tinh dầu, đồng thời làm chất chuẩn phân tích trong nghiên cứu phát thải VOC từ gỗ; trong R&D hóa sinh và hóa tự nhiên, thujopsene hỗ trợ nghiên cứu con đường sinh tổng hợp sesquiterpen (enzyme cyclase), biến đổi xúc tác/oxy hóa để tạo dẫn xuất mùi, và khảo sát hoạt tính sinh học (ví dụ tính xua đuổi côn trùng, chống mối mọt, kháng vi nấm/vi khuẩn ở quy mô in vitro), góp phần giải thích độ bền tự nhiên của gỗ tuyết tùng; ở cấp ứng dụng thực tế, nó hiện diện trong các công thức xua côn trùng/diệt côn trùng dựa trên dầu cedarwood và các sản phẩm xử lý gỗ có nguồn gốc sinh học, với lưu ý tuân thủ quy định IFRA/biocide địa phương, kiểm soát độ tinh khiết, tính dễ cháy và an toàn tiếp xúc.
