    Piperitone oxide (CAS 5286-38-4) là monoterpen oxide có hương bạc hà–thảo mộc hơi long não, được ứng dụng làm thành phần hương trong nước hoa, xà phòng, chất tẩy rửa, nến và sản phẩm khử mùi, đồng thời dùng làm gia vị–điều biến hương vị cho kẹo, chewing gum, đồ uống và sản phẩm chăm sóc răng miệng ở hàm lượng vết để mang lại cảm giác mát và tăng độ bền mùi; là nguyên liệu trung gian thuận lợi cho biến đổi hóa học (mở vòng epoxid, chức năng hóa) nhằm tạo các dẫn xuất p-menthane phục vụ thiết kế chất thơm và hợp chất có hoạt tính sinh học; được nghiên cứu như thành phần có nguồn gốc tự nhiên với tiềm năng xua đuổi/ức chế côn trùng và kháng khuẩn/kháng nấm trong bảo quản nông sản, vệ sinh và chăm sóc cá nhân; hữu ích trong R&D và phân tích tinh dầu làm chất chuẩn/đối chiếu GC–MS, dấu ấn hóa học cho phân loại hóa thực vật và nghiên cứu chuyển hóa; khi tách chiết bằng phương pháp vật lý từ tinh dầu có thể đáp ứng ghi nhãn “tự nhiên” theo ISO 9235; trong pha chế mùi thường dùng như chất điều biến để làm sắc nét, làm mát và nâng độ tươi cho các accord; cần bảo quản kín, mát, tránh ánh sáng và môi trường axit/kiềm, hạn chế oxy hóa.
