    Pentadekan (n-pentadecane, CAS 629-62-9) là ankan mạch thẳng không phân cực sôi cao được dùng làm dung môi/môi trường phản ứng trơ ở nhiệt độ trung bình đến cao, thành phần hoặc chất tải trong chất lỏng truyền nhiệt, vật liệu tích trữ nhiệt ẩn (PCM) quanh 10 °C cho bảo quản lạnh và điều hòa vi khí hậu, chuẩn lưu giữ và chuẩn hiệu chuẩn cho GC/GC‑MS trong phân tích dầu khí, polyme và môi trường, chất chuẩn tham chiếu hoặc nội chuẩn để thẩm định phương pháp, hợp phần mô hình trong nghiên cứu cháy, động học oxy hóa và nhiên liệu thay thế (surrogate) kiểu diesel/khoáng, chất pha loãng/chất mang cho phụ gia kỵ nước và chất bôi trơn, cũng như chất lỏng kỵ nước cho thử nghiệm thấm ướt, bề mặt và nghiên cứu vật liệu.
