    4′-Methylacetophenone (p-methylacetophenone, CAS 122-00-9) là hợp chất hương liệu–trung gian tổng hợp đa dụng, được ngành mỹ phẩm và thực phẩm sử dụng để tạo mùi ngọt pha gỗ cho nước hoa, xà phòng, nến thơm, kẹo và đồ uống, đồng thời đóng vai trò nguyên liệu khởi đầu trong tổng hợp dược phẩm chống viêm, thuốc thú y, dẫn xuất indanol, chất kích hoạt quang trùng hợp, chất ổn định nhựa, phụ gia cao su, chất trung gian thuốc nhuộm anthraquinon, và còn được dùng làm chuẩn phân tích trong sắc ký khí lẫn sắc ký lỏng nhờ độ tinh khiết cao và đặc tính UV đặc trưng.
