  • Ứng dụng

    Isoborneol (CAS 124-76-5) là một rượu monoterpenoid hai vòng có mùi long não–gỗ thông–mát, được ứng dụng rộng rãi làm chất tạo hương trong nước hoa, xà phòng, chất tẩy rửa, nến, sáp thơm, chất làm thơm không khí và sản phẩm chăm sóc cá nhân; làm chất tạo vị camphor/minty–thảo mộc ở mức rất thấp trong thực phẩm, đồ uống và kẹo; là trung gian tổng hợp quan trọng để oxy hóa thành camphor, este hóa tạo isobornyl acetate (một chất mùi chủ lực), và làm khối xây dựng bất đối xứng trong tổng hợp dược chất, hương liệu và hóa chất mịn; được dùng trong phòng thí nghiệm giảng dạy như cơ chất điển hình cho cặp oxy hóa–khử camphor/isoborneol và để minh họa lập thể bằng quang phổ; ngoài ra còn làm thành phần che/điều chỉnh mùi trong sơn, mực in và vật liệu tiêu dùng, đôi khi được khảo sát như chất hỗ trợ thấm qua da trong công thức bôi ngoài.
