    gamma-EUDESMOL (CAS 1209-71-8) là một sesquiterpen ancol có mùi gỗ ấm, hơi ngọt, được ứng dụng chủ yếu trong lĩnh vực hương liệu để tạo và củng cố sắc thái gỗ–đất, tăng chiều sâu và độ bền mùi, đóng vai trò chất cố định trong nước hoa, xà phòng, sản phẩm chăm sóc cá nhân, nến thơm và chế phẩm hương gia dụng; trong phân tích và kiểm soát chất lượng, chất này thường được dùng làm chất chuẩn tham chiếu để định tính/định lượng bằng GC–MS, hỗ trợ xây dựng dấu vân tay tinh dầu (đặc biệt với các dầu giàu eudesmol như trầm hương/agarwood và thương truật/Atractylodes) và theo dõi biến thiên thành phần theo nguồn gốc, mùa vụ và quy trình chế biến; trong nghiên cứu, gamma‑eudesmol đóng vai trò cấu phần mô hình để khảo sát sinh tổng hợp sesquiterpen, tách sắc ký các đồng phân đối quang, sàng lọc hoạt tính sinh học in vitro (ví dụ kháng viêm, kháng khuẩn, chống oxy hóa hoặc xua đuổi côn trùng), đồng thời có thể được khai thác như nguyên liệu trung gian tổng hợp các dẫn xuất mùi gỗ liên quan; tổng thể, gamma‑eudesmol được ưa chuộng như một nốt hương gỗ tự nhiên, chỉ thị hóa học trong dược liệu/tinh dầu và tiêu chuẩn phương pháp trong hóa phân tích.
